About fifty-five years ago, a group of Prospect men formed an independent boys Little League baseball program. In 1967, Prospect Baseball enrolled the League in the "official" Little League Baseball program. This step was taken to allow an "All-Star" team to play in the CT State Little League championship tournament. Since then, many outstanding teams have represented Prospect in the State playoffs. The best of teams was from 1997 which was one game away from playing the State title. Five of those players later were granted college scholarships. Over the years, many Prospect players earned scholarships and it is hoped many more will be gained in the future.
Most recently, one of our former players has signed with the Kansas City Royals!
